Just got my new corland sylk in today. Took Doug M.'s advice and got the double taper. Now I just have to decide whether to put it on my el-cheapo or keep it and put on the new cortland combo. Either way can't wait to try it out.

I would add the sylk to the new combo and the line you get with the combo put on your cheapo.

I agree with Mike. The 444 line coming with the combo is mighty fine, but the sylk still better. I bet you'll like your cheap rod much better with that 444 on it.

that's what I fiqured. Haven't told my usual fishing partner about this yet.(the new flyrod combo) Won't he be suprised.

kind of hard to do that. he doesn't have a computer and he'd have to use mine. and i'd hate to have him win with my computer. LOL

yes that would. do you do the right thing and tell him that he won. or just say o'well his tough luck for not having a computer or being around to check it out.

Staff members are not permitted to contact winners to tell them they won. The whole point of the drawing is to get the members to 1: Support the Site & 2: Visit every day.

When EasternFlyfisher won, he is a friend, it took everything I had not to contact him. I think if I had done that it would not have been fair to the person whom was selected and claimed the prize when he failed to visit.
