I broke out the flyrod today at lunch for a little practice casting. It has been a couple of weeks since I cast, Let me tell you it goes away quick. I'm still pretty new at this but was getting decent enough to fish a few weeks back but today it was like starting all over. It is hard to imagine how quickly your timing gets off when your not practicing. I promise I'll try harder.

just remember these three things

Stop the tip higher than you think you need to,

You must accelerate through the casting stroke,

And, to make the line GO, you must make the rod STOP.

When you see a loop that looks good, stop, think about what you did, and try to do it again.

If you have not yet downloaded Doug Macnair's casting book... you might want to strongly consider doing just that. Go to www.douglasmacnair.com

Doug is an excellent casting instructor and has done a very good job of putting his thoughts on paper.
