Having moved to the Puget Sound area recently I had my eyes open for new waters. Most of my life has been around a fishing spot that was within walking distance, everything from ocean inlets to small decorative ponds at the neighborhood entrance.

Not once did I ever think that finding a good fishing spot would be a hassle. I am finding out the hard way that streams of fish donít really exist here in Dupont. Not only that but I have really begun to take my fly fishing to the next...

The Longest Day

Posted 06-22-2012 at 03:53 PM by milt spawn

I knew the window would be open longer than any other day this year, so I planned for an epic day of dry fly fishing. Loaded the gear the night before, got up early with coffee and the cooler and took off. Arrived at the trailhead and proceeded to rig up and... realized I had used my 4wt reel on a stillwater and thus had a intermediate full sinker spool on it! Well, so much for the dry fly action. Posted 06-19-2012 at 12:32 PM by Ard

We have been fishing the same area for a few days now and yesterday were gifted with some fantastic weather conditions ranging from warm sun to a rather furious storm. I managed to travel ahead of the storms save for a tremendous blow on the big river. When facing sustained and gusting a head wind that whipped the river into 1.5 - 2 foot chop I was able to run back branches with plenty of trees lining the banks and so able to dodge most of the bad stuff. As we made a run for cover I had to guide...

Fly fishing at depth

Posted 05-30-2012 at 12:02 AM by fisher46

Im interested in some other techniques for fishing a fly at depth past 20'.Particularly Stripers, Smallys and largemouth.-other specie's techniques would be interesting too.- I've used a set up w/ t14 and 100lb braid running line for Stripers. I used the 100' because its diameter is far easier to figure then the smaller lbs. It was sensitive but, Ive only done it a couple of times w/ limited success.
