Okay, here on the prairies the rivers are normally muddy, it is a fact of life!
But has anyone ever thrown a fly into a river that has crested above flood stage??? AND CAUGHT SOMETHING EDIBLE??:ranting3:

Do fish move out into surrounding fields to eat during high water?
Manitoba rivers right now are at record high flood levels, some towns have been evacuated because of high water. I guess a guy could troll the streets in a high clearance 4X4, but how about fly fishing from a bar stool in a flooded hotel???
I get worms in my lawn all summer, when it is under water will the fish come to feed? Maybe take a fly? Maybe a brown and black "Debris" tied on a #6 hook to simulate the contents escaping from the sewage treatment plant????

I have never tried to fish flood waters. If we were talking about the behavior of salmon they will continue to travel to an extent and when doing so they will run right along the shore, wherever the shore may end up. I have found many fish who have ended up landlocked when rivers recede.
