That's a bit chilly, even for Winnipeggers !milt
Even worse was growing up/living on a farm NE of the City (don't remember the distance) and ground was flat as a pancake. Upwards of 90 inches of snow was not all that unusual. Kids winter jobs (besides being home schooled) was that of 'tunnel rats' digging out snow tunnels out to the chicken coop, etc.

Sounds like a miserable job but actually a total hoot. Tunnels worked on the same principal as an Igloo. Body heat would melt the snow around you and it would re-freeze making the thing slick as you could possibly imagine.

ZOOM!

Tunnel temp rarely got much below 25'ish degrees as snow is a hell of a great insalater. (sp?)

I'll try to keep this in mind in the morning when I take the dog out. Calling for the low teens around here. LOL. Low teens is COLD for here, but calling for the low 30's for a high. I don't deal well with cold weather like I use to. :(
