I am wondering what is the best hook to tie on? I am a little tired of the mustad dry fly hooks bending on me it is getting old and I am in need of better hooks. If you know please share. I have lost alot of nice fish the last year on these hooks and I havent even put much pressure on the fish when hooked. Any ways thanks

I recently ran into the same thing with Mustad small hooks. I've had good success with their heavy-wire hooks, though. More margin for error there. I cleaned out the hook bin of all light wire and small mustads - pitched them - and have gone completely over to tiemco-tmc and diichi. Have tied flies on those down to 24's and never had one bend. More money, but I know they will do the job. And "more money" means my hook cost has gone from .12 to .24 . I know that's 50% but it's 12 cents. Compare that to the cost of a comparable quality fly at the fly shop for 1.50 to 2.00. Cost of the hook is still quite cheap. And again, I know they will do the job.

That's how I look at it. Others surely will differ.
