Default Great article on hooking fish with small flies

Props to MidCurrent for this great article addressing important aspects of fishing small flies for trout that many of us may have never thought of-

Cliff, that was a very good article. Tying a small fly on a hook one size larger is a great technique; use it quite often when tying the smaller flies for Steelhead fishing. Using a small hook with a longer shank is also very useful.

I have way too many hooks, and different brands. After reading that article,
I looked through my hook drawer, and discovered that my Tiemco 100 and 101 hooks are labeled as having a wide gape. I compared them with Mustad
94840 in #18 and #20, and the Tiemco hooks do have a wider gape.
So much so, that I might relegate the Mustads to chironomid duty or something.
