Thread: First Cast

    Default First Cast

Went fishing on the Big Hunting Creek in MD today, long car ride from my house. Anyway, first cast of the day into a beautiful pool brings up this 11"-12" hard fighting wild brown. These wild brownies on this river are BEAUTIFUL, the photo does not do these fish justice. Anyway, took him on a #20 griffith's gnat.

    Not photogenic at all. lol

    Great looking fish Nater!!!

Catching a fish on the first cast is always a motivator that gets you tuned in on the task at hand. Hope you continue sending pics and stories of your adventures.

I was going fly fishing until my wife suggested it, now I can't tell who is outsmarting who!

Being "one with nature" requires a knowledge of what animals are living nearby and a weapon of sufficient magnitude to give you at minimum an equal chance of survival. No one has an invisible aura that animals can detect and sense your good intentions.

Great looking fish! Congratulations fellow Marylander!

What a way to start your day Nate! It seems that everywhere is a long ride these days but yours was worth while.

    Congratulations,

Looks like a great stream with some eager fish. Those are the best kind and worth a bit of a drive!

Nice catch kiddo. Now what about the rest of your casts?
    How many more?

Couple more, 6 or 7. I didn't count. Probably 3 browns and 3 rainbows. None were as big.
