    I have no idea if this makes sense or not, but wouldn't the "soft fighters" taste better for the lack of lactic acid buildup? Just a late night thought on my part, but I'm curious if anyone has an opinion.

    In any case, that's a handsome fish and the OP deserves credit for landing it.

    I got burnt out on the taste of salmon a long, long time ago. With the exception of some very occasional smoked salmon, i wont eat the stuff anymore. My old man used to bring it home endlessly. I got so i couldnt stand the sight of it anymore. lol

    Thankfully i still like to catch it.
