Default Rainbow Spawn

I am always amazed at the color, intelligence and power of these beautiful fish. I was down on the river a few weeks ago and here they were making hay while the sun was shining!

Default Re: Rainbow Spawn

Nancy & I had the good fortune to be standing at a lake shore 2 or 3 years back and witnessed a really large pair actually deposit and fertilize the eggs in a gravel patch about 10 feet from where we stood. I've seen lots of spawning fish but these two in still water with no glare were like seeing a movie. We must have showed up at precisely the right moment because we were only on station for a couple minuets before they did it. The hen began covering the bed as we crept away.........
