All,

Thanks for the kind words! This area had a major fish kill a couple years ago with one of the largest fires ever in NM history. So the fact that we are seeing the numbers come back up is amazing. We could definitely use more moisture, though. Lord, let it rain! haha!

Thanks for watching,

Gregg

Nice video and beautiful stream. Thanks for posting it. Something about those little fish, they can be a lot of fun!

Very nice video. What section was this?

I was planning on going to Jemez tributaries this weekend before they closed the entire SFNF. Now it looks like the Red.

Hopefully they open the Jemez and Pecos watersheds before the season ends.

You're asking for rain and up here in Wisconsin I can't wait for it to stop raining! Maybe we could switch around our weather for a couple weeks

aggieoutlaw, this is the lower San Antonio stretch below the San Antonio Hot Springs section. You'd park in the new lot and work your way up.

The SFNF is closed down as of June 24th according to their site and it looks like they're going to keep it closed until we get some rain.

pikefisher69, we would definitely not mind switching for a couple weeks!! Maybe even a couple years! haha!!

I should know better to be optimistic, especially with regard to rain in NM, but...the climate prediction center is showing better-than-average chance of precip in northern NM/CO in the 6-10 and 8-14 day forecasts. Maybe, just maybe, the rains are going to start.

In 1996, the year of the Dome Fire (another bad Jemez fire), the Galisteo Basin below La Bajada Hill was brown, brown, brown. Not as bad as this year, but still dry. The rains came and I remember coming down La Bajada and seeing a sea of green. It was wonderful. So things CAN change.
