Default Big Trout, Small Flys

Headed out Sunday with a good friend to chase some trout for the afternoon/evening. 2lb tippet with #20 dry fly, barbless, I hooked 7 & landed 5, broke one off in the alders & put to much pressure on the 2lb tippet with the other. I look like a deer in the headlights in all the pics, this place is like a piece of heaven really.
First fish was the biggest of the day!

Nice catches. Sometimes you have to throw what the fish are keying on even if the food is dinky.

+1 for what Dennis said! Kind of reminds me of the San Juan except the scenery is prettier, congrats on catching some great looking fish!

It's funny, on this particular day there wasn't a fly on the water & there weren't fish really rising at all, the small fly must have been just enough to tempt them.

I finally understand the rod-in-mouth hero shot....

It makes you look skinnier.

Nice fish!

Great Pics,

I love throwing bigs flies to big trout, but for me, the art of fly fishing really shows when throwing small flies to big trout... Thanks for sharing.
