Shell rock is going to be one of those rivers I hit as well. Looking forward to it, honestly. Fishing in northern Iowa has always been good for me.

We saved you some fish as much of IA has been a tough bite this year. Very low water and drought since July. Your timing is good. It snowed significantly here today but didn't stick. Earliest snow since 1980. The much cooler water should improve things.

I keep telling my kids mom that the requirements are that you need a pack of huskies and a sled, a snowmobile, and a 4x4 to live in Iowa. Lol

Sure wish I could but I have to work that weekend. Keep me in mind and we'll get together next time.

How is the casting room on the banks of the Cedar, Wapsi, Shell rock, and other surrounding rivers, up there? Thinking about bringing my spey to solve this issue.
