Default Afternoon Brownie and Bow (South Holston Advice)

Had a great afternoon on the South Holston in East TN! These guys were biting on sulphurs. Still new to flyfishing and trying to learn the ropes, but catching a few of these keeps me coming back for more. Anybody have any tips for the South Holston? I've been primarily fishing dry flies and have yet to venture out into emergers or midges very much.

Is this a catch and release trip or catch and keep? Corn Fed Fins would have commented but he porbably passed out when he saw the fish laying in the grass.

Looks like your off to a good start, Logan. Nice fish. You don't catch too many of those without doing a lot right already. I just planned a trip to SOHO in october and hope to catch a few like that!....and on a dry fly would be amazing. Emergers, nymphs and streamers all have different techniques. My advice is to just enjoy your success and take it slow. Fly fishing takes many years to master. Enjoy the journey. And don't worry about throwing fish on the bank for a picture. We've all done it. I look back and cringe at some of my early pictures with steelhead laying on the rocks (easy fellas....they were stocked great lakes fish).
