Sometimes it only takes one to make your day.

Almost didn’t go fishing today because my son’s school was on a two hour delay which means I didn’t get on the water until nearly noon. When I got to the river the ground was covered with snow and the water level was a tad high, but fishable. Had a light stain to it. Caught the guy above around 1:15pm. Hooked another one but he got off. And that was it for the rest of the day.

I went fishing on Monday without any luck. They had just stocked two days earlier and several bait fisherman where catching fish on power bait, but they weren’t interested in what we were throwing. It’s not so bad when you’re by yourself and don’t catch anything but when everyone around you is cleaning house it’s frustrating.

Around here we say, "If you only catch one, it was probably an accident"......
But, one is better than none.
