Nice fish. Those are pretty rainbows.

I have a suggestion if you are releasing the fish though...It's not a great idea to lay them out on rocks and dirt while you take a picture. It can damage their slime coat, get things caught in their gills etc. If you are alone and want to take a picture, the best thing to do is hold them in one hand and take a picture without laying them down on the ground. Try to get them back in the water as fast as possible and remember to wet your hand before handling them.

I've taken my share of pictures with trout laying on the ground next to my rod but ever since someone pointed out to me the harm it can cause, I try not to. If you are going to let the fish go, you might as well do everything you can to ensure its survival.

sweet fish, love the color on the first one.

One question though, they dont stock trout in the McCloud do they? because that second fish looks like a stocker, it looks paler and less colorful, or is that how they are in that river.

watched a show on that river, looks awesome.

You're right Troutwhisperer, the McCloud isn't stocked anymore...spassky72 caught his in
Missouri though. You're also right about the McCloud being an awesome river but these days
you need to leave the parking areas and head
downstream (hint) to get away from the crowds
and the swarms of guides. Nothing against
crowds, guides or anyone that makes the trek to
the McCloud but it's a far cry from days when I
could go there on a weekend day and have it all to
myself withouth the 1.5 hour hike to 'get away
from it all' so to speak. Still a great river though.
