Flies for Chinook in The Great Lakes

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good flies for fishing for chinook salmon in the fall specifically in the harbours. I’ve been using intruders for fishing in the rivers but I had someone tell me that They’re not the best for fishing in the harbours.

Also, if anyone has had any experience Flyfishing for Salmon off of harbour walls and has any advice that they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated.

Baitfish patterns, emerald shiners, in particular.

Clousers, Micky Finns, and Deceivers.

Never saw a need for 'hatch' matching. But color preferences can make a difference.

Easy to tie chartreuse or blue over white, black over purple and all white bucktails also worked for me. Add a little flash to them.

I agree....baitfish (emerald shiner, alewife, shad, etc), sculpin, goby, crayfish, mysis shrimp and leech streamer patterns should all work.

Flies from Great Lakes guides Kevin Feenstra, Matt Supinski or Steelhead Alley Outfitters including Greg Senyo. Autumn Siren Flies makes Great Lakes specific patterns as well.
