    williamhj - the Magog smelt is named, sort of, after Lake Memphremagog, which is in both Quebec and Vermont. Landlocked salmon fly.

    Gary, that's a handsome fly!

    I've had that happen with saltwater patters but I'd just soak the tubing with a coat of epoxy, problem solved and I think it makes the body pop a bit more.
    Same here, and have tied the Magog for saltwater use. Even a couple of coats of Sally Hansen's adds some extra life & depth to a mylar body.
    Remember, no one likes to be behind the big truck, but that's better than being under it!
