I just made another order to my tube fly material vendor. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say the business name but there are increasingly available sizes of tubes, hybrid tubes, Metal, bottle, liner, squiggles tubes, Scandinavian sparkle tubes and other varied set up and tube materials.
While we all use different fur and feathers, I’m talking about setting up and balencing the base for tying, weight, liner tube, metal or bottles and flex or junction tubing.
Material costs can go through the roof, I’ve already bought stuff I’ll never use and tube sizes that eat up expensive materials in a flash!
How do you like to set up your tubes?
What sizes do you like?
What do you like to see and how to Balance tubes?
What lengths of materials do you like for multi stage hybrid tubes?
Cone, round, bead, ufo or turbulence heads?
Could the possibility exist that I’m loosing and not hooking up missing many tugs as because of the balence of my tube flies? I think that’s very possible.
I’m branching out into metal, bottle and hybrid plastic and metal plastic tubes, it would be nice to have a discussion on tube design and what people are using when and where. I’ll have to post more later on what I’ve ordered and what I’ve been up to lately in tube flies.
Thanks, Steve
