I thought it was fitting after receiving Dec and Marty's new fly tying book today....to try my hand at a classic PNW Steelhead pattern from one of the true icons.....Dec Hogan's Skagit Mist.



Hook - Alec Jackson 1.5
Tag - Medium flat silver tinsel
Tail - Natural golden pheasant crest and tippets
Butt - Purple ostrich herl
Body - Rear red angora and front black angora
Ribbing - Silver oval tinsel and medium blue holo tinsel
Hackle - Red saddle rear and black heron sub front
Collar - Natural mallard flank feather
Wing - White goose shoulder
Eye - Jungle cock cheeks
Head - Red thread w/ Loon UV cure

I hope I did it justice.

I'd say you did a good job at that one Mike and by the way...…. I discontinued the sale post for that Perfect 4 1/4 inch. There had been 1070 people view the thread with only a few "Do you still have the reel?" replies. I was surprised that no one snagged it since after my paying to mail it my end would be only $480. I canceled it before anyone worked up the nerve to make an offer...……………..

In truth it won't hurt me to have it around to use and it does have the new springs.
