    Cosmic Shrimp

    Another Marty Howard pattern. A slight variation.

    Hook - 1.5 Alec Jackson
    Tail - Pink deer hide hair topped with a small red flank feather
    Body - Pink and orange ice dub
    Ribbing - Large pearl tinsel
    Hackle - Pink saddle rear and orange schlappen front
    Collar - Large orange mallard flank
    Wing - Gp tippet cut in v topped with a red gp flank feather at mid section and 4 red gp flank feathers spooned on top
    Head - Red thread with Loon UV cure

    It’s a steelhead fly. Developed for swinging up Pacific Northwest steelhead..... but I’m sure a Great Lakes hatchery brat might give it a nibble. There are no prawns or squid in the Great Lakes..... but I’d eat it if I was a fish.

    Maybe a sea-run (brown, bull, cutty or dolly) trout or salmon might take a whack at it too.
