Mr. Silvey

A variation of a Dec Hogan original hairwing steelhead fly. I tweaked a little bit by adding the toucan sub to the tail and the green schlappen for hackle.

Well.... I've never seen this pattern for sale anywhere online. My tying speed is definitely not commercial level.....so you won't be seeing them in a shop any time soon.

There are shops selling nice steelhead wets out there:

- Deschutes Angler - Steelhead Wets: Your gateway to the Lower Deschutes River. Guided fly fishing trips and the largest inventory of Fly Fishing Gear in the Northwest. Swing your way into Central Oregon's premier Trout and Steelhead Fly Fishing Shop & Outfitter. We also provide customers trophy sized Rainbow Trout on the fly with our remote Private Lakes.
- The Fly Shop - https://catalog.theflyshop.com/flies/steelhead/?sort=featured&page=7
- Pacific Fly Fishers - Steelhead Flies: Traditional | Pacific Fly Fishers
- Waters West - Traditional Wet Flies : Waters West Fly Fishing Outfitters, Port Angeles, WA

Can't forget these guys

- Grab Flies - Steelhead Spey and Classic Flies,

Or one of these other fine shops.......

Many times...that's where I get my inspiration. Much like I did years many years ago with the Cabelas and Orvis Fly Fishing catalogs. Or you can buy a vise and get cracking. That's my best source of flies. When they fall apart....I know who to yell at.

If I see you up on the Salmon River this fall I'll give you one. How's that sound?
