Default The Celtic Beauty strikes again!

Well, I thought it was just going to be a good summer salmon hairwing (hooking 14 fish its first morning in the river), but last week I found out its a pretty darn good autumn fly as well. I landed a 20, a 12 and a 10 pounder plus a grilse on this particular Celtic Beauty until I dropped my back cast and dinged it on a rock:

and the 20 pounder it fooled:

I'll second that motion!

Glad to see that there were still some fish in the system after your long wait Gary. You should get into the single hand Spey cast to help avoid those pesky rocks behind you. Easy and very effective way to roll out a wet fly.

Nice!

Nice fish!

I like the streamer; reminds me a little of a Black Bear variation.

Wow! Nice fish. Must have smacked that rock pretty hard to bust the point off at the barb. Good line speed huh?

Thanks guys. It sure felt good to get in the river after an entire summer on crutches! Ard, I will definately check out the single hand spey suggestion, and Dan, the old Loomis NativeRun really can drive a fly, no doubt!

Really beaut Fish Gary,I've noticed over the years some hooks break quicker than others, years ago I had a box of hooks from a well known maker that were real Brittle which we didn't notice until we had lost several nice fish from broken hooks,it was a problem in The Hardening & Tempering process.
