Default Three Hackle Holographic Spey fly

My fly tying mentor, Charlie Krom (Fulsher and Krom, "Hairwing Atlantic Salmon Flies) came up with a style of fly he calls the Three Hackle Holographic Spey fly. He's got a batch of different patterns in this style; I thought I'd try one in Celtic Beauty colors. I hope from the 3 pics you can see how he came to name this style of fly:

Gary: Very nice work, congrats! I love the look of the holographic material on the body.

Thanks, Larry! Charlie has had some success with other versions of the fly for atlantic salmon...we'll see how this one does this summer.

I too am a fan of Charlie Krom's flies (trout flies). He is a wet fly wing wizard and I have spent beaucoup years transfixed by the magic he could spin on a #9672 with his low mounted quill wing imitations....a style of his own he has.

GT.....and you right in his foot steps! Nice CB tie, as we are used to seeing.

In my next life I think I will have a camp on the Miramichi and fish these kinda flies. Until then Ke-mo sah-be..............

Hi Gary,

As are all your flies this is neat and looks like a very effective lure for salmon and trout. Some of the best fish catchers I use are very similar to this.

Keep them coming, we need inspiration here
