I'm confused. I thought most spinners were female but most of the trico spinner patterns I used to see had black abdomens which I guess are more the male, whereas the female has a white abdomen. While each may work best under different conditions- what would be the "first choice" on a trico spinner? Male (black body) or female? (white body). In other words- as I understand it- on certain streams there may be a night trico spinner period and in the morning, right at dawn, you might want to try a trico spinner for any night feeding trout that are still active. What trico spinner pattern would you generally pick? Thanks.
