I've been out fishing this fly with a lot of success the last few weeks, but I can't remember what this fly was, or where I bought it. It could have been in my box for years unused.

It looks to be an olive thread, black hackle, white tail fiber and wings.

I'm thinking it's a Trico but not certain.

Can someone help me identify this fly?

It really helps to tell us the size hook the fly is tied on. If that is tied on a size 20 or smaller than it is definitely a Trico.

You might want to save those tied by AK Best. I had a chance to meet he and John Gierach at a fly show in Seattle years ago. AK's wing designs are kind of retro looking as compared to many of today's fly tyers.
