Thread: Colorado Caddis

  1. Default Colorado Caddis

A variant of a recipe from Juan Ramirez. I've been finding orange bead head caddis patterns are very effective lately. This pattern is normally tied with a black tungsten bead and a peacock herl thorax.
BTW these are the first fly images taken with my new Nikon D7000. Lens is a 60mm 2.8 nikkor macro.

    Hook - TMC 2488
    Bead - Orange glass
    Thread - UTC 70 chartreuse
    Bubble - White Antron fibers
Body - Caddis Green Ice Dub
    Hackle - Hen neck brown

Yat: I love the look that the orange bead gives those Caddis flies, very nice work. Does your Nikon D7000 have a macro capability?

The D7000 is a full DSLR with interchangeable lenses. These fly pics were all taken with a 60mm 2.8 Nikkor Macro lens.
    Thanks Larry

    Yat,

You've got your own hatch going on there! Those look nice to me; great body effect. You're in for some fun!
