Default Airflo's ridged striper int 9# - casting probs

Or line problems but whats happeing is when I'm double hauling my line everything is fine then I'm holding a clump of line in my line hand.

I use a orvis basket which has never been a problem with other lines but this is brandnew line that has been out about 5 times, its almost like its sticking together because alot of times its not a tangle but looks more like a 2' loop stuck to the line I'm feeding into the pole when casting and then I have to stop the cast and unwrap this loop about 1-time and throw it back in the basket.

I've cut my fly off and pulled out all the line and then shaked the heck out of it while reeling it back on my reel to get any twists out of it..

anyone know what this is and if its the ridged line thats doing it,, one local guy said he hated airflo lines and never uses that brand.

thanks for any info.

Default Re: Airflo's ridged striper int 9# - casting probs

thanks for the looks,,,, but its the line--> I wouldn't recommend striper ridged to my enemies.

I hung this line off a 3-story balcony and kept pulling back up through my fingers (while wet) several times to make sure it had no twists, and 2nd cast last night walla a long 1 1/2 to 2' long single loop wrapped around the main line about 2 times, so I just false casted til I could shake the loop out but the next cast it did the same thing!

taking it off all 3 reels and cheerfully tossing it into the garbage can,, another fly fisher I met said he has had no luck with Airflo ridged and he uses SA or Rio but he had the same problem with the ridged line looping up on him once it got wet.

I posted this so if anyone in the future does a search they will get this info.
