This is the 'Grand Daddie' of them all, and the largest Nationally. $100,000 worth of rods, lines, etc., for you to actually take to the river and test. The instructionals put on over Saturday and Sunday are put on by "People who know."

Cost? Park entry fee is about $4.00 .... that's it and they EVEN FEED YOU FOR FREE! For a full run down, Google flyfishusa.

Need a casting instruction? Just ask.

No gear is sold there, but you sure can find what you want to buy come Monday morning......

You can. Fly into Portland 'noonish' on Friday with your minimal/needed camping gear. Rent car, read map (actually a GPS is the better choice), and you'll be a the entrance to Oxbow in about 35 minutes. Sunday noon, back to airport and give them back the car (there are hot showers, but you probably won't take one ... well, mine were quickie dunks in the river, and home for dinner) car will need an airing out.

Passenger next may ask for a seat change, and you really need a bath/shave.

He/she 'gives you the look and you tell them you've just spent 3 weeks in the bush in Alaska. Fishing WAS FAB-O-LUSHES! Think through all the stories you're going to tell before you get on the plane.

A guy will probably listen to every lie you tell, the young lady ... 'But I talk to much, do you fish?' Regardless of the answer you could "Be Gold." 'This may sound too forward, but I'd like to show you Yellowstone, Rockies, pick a place?

Doesn't appear interested, give her your business card and 'If you change your mind, give me a call.' And no, I'm not going to remunerate the Puppy Hunted.

Then I met "Joan" and now Divorced**, never changed my mind, never-ever even considered fooling around. Even since; you've met your 'Match' even if she changed her mind.

Sorry, TMI. Save for one thing. You find a bird, you heal a bird, and it needs to be set free, let it free to fly. To where? There you sit back and watch and hope for the best.

I hear you Bro., I hear you.

Back story for all of these is I 'invented' the concept a decade and change back. Another friend (whose name completley escapes me for the moment) ran through the 'idea.' Idea was 'Who knows shxt about casting/fishing with a 2hander?'

First was to be in Southern Oregon, on the Rogue. 'How do people get there? Etc. Lets do this on the Sandy River and ask Mark B (flyfishusa) to help us get the rod reps involved.

    BRILLIANT IDEA!

With some grumbling, Mark did and the rest is history. First was 50'ish people, 2handers out of car trunks/rod reps out of the back of a beat up pick-up truck (Lamiglass). Oxbow, and lots of single malts were ... how shall say? ... consumed over the weekend.

    Brotherhood, a "Band of Brothers?"

Me thinks, me thinks? A good thing.

Still cringe when I see the word "Clave" without a ' before the word as its a contratation of the word 'conclave.'

I'd love to, but no dogs (service only) allowed in the Park. Sandy, my Yellow Lab has been my constant companion for 10+ years. Good time, some really ****** times. But there rolled up on my bed. Or Husky, who pasted October 2012, and slept under my desk during the day. A toe warmer.

Probably TMI but when Husker's passed he/I were covered by a double sleeping bag on the concrete back deck. Held close ..

Never mind, I need to take a long walk. I'm busting up here as I type.
