It will slip on 30lb flouro for sure- my goto for Snook. What I settled on instead was a figure 8 in front of the hook- pass the tippet through, following the same path that the line emerges from the 8, entering and exiting parallel to the existing line. Adjust the size of the final loop you want and snug that down- then do a 3 1/2 turn clinch in front of the closed figure 8. When it was shown to me, it was called a Yucatan Tarpon Knot, but I have had a hard time finding reference to it ever since. Great knot knot for making a "real" non-slip loop in heavier diameter material.

Again on the same side of entred. Tighten all four ends and trim. You will have a durable loop connection and it is basically just an overhand knot with a follow through. It takes a bit of practice to get the loop the right size, but it's as easy as an improved clinch knot, and your fly swings free. This is more of an issue for streamers, but it is a nice simple knot.
I like this one. As you said it is a simple knot to tie.

I use this loop knot too. It's an elusive knot to reference but I know it as the Homer Rhodes Double.
The best part is that it lines up straight.

I started tying a eugene bend when I used to live in cold country. Super quick, super strong, and doesn't use much tippet material at all if you use foreceps to tie it. I started using it because I could tie it without taking off my under gloves. (still had to take off my big mittens though). I still use it now because it's just so good. It's only for relatively light tippets though - less that 15lb for sure.

That eugene bend won me a bet the other day when this bass fisherman said that nothing was stronger than a palomar knot. Man...seeing his palomar break in that little competition was just so fun!

If I use heavier tippet material, then I usually go with a nonslip loop. I could see though, that if the tippet material gets really heavy that maybe that homer Rhode might be better.
