Figure 8 Knot to attach tippet to leaders?

A while back a guy showed me a knot that he saw Lefty Kreh tie. Pretty sure Lefty did not invent it, but it formed a figure 8 before you pulled it tight.
Somehow,(AGE) I have completely forgot how to tie it
Anyone got a tutorial or web page help?

That's a great looking knot! I invariably mute the volume on fly tying and knot tying videos so they could all be in Japanese. Thanks for the share. I'm going to make up some leaders using this figure 8 knot.

The figure 8 knot is the standard when tying wire to a hook eye but I've never tried it with mono.
With wire, it's important that when you drawn the knot tight, only pull on the tag end, otherwise you've go a mess

I've used the figure 8 for many years.....used it climbing for 28yrs.
I'm still here!

Everyone can tie a basic overhand knot.....just twist the loop once more, and then pass the end through..

Yep, that's the one. This knot has been around for years before Orvis hung their name on it. For fluoro, I use the Seaguar knot, basically one more turn of the forceps.
