  1. Default Best dropper knot for Euro Nymphing?

Im looking for a reasonably simply knot to attach my dropper fly to my tippet section above the anchor fly.
Ive tried the double surgeons knot using the lower tag section however after a few "casts" that section and fly are tightly wrapped against the main tippet.

What other knots/methods would put the dropper closer to a 90% angle to the main tippet?

I just started euro nymphing, so I'm no expert, but a blood knot is working well for me so far. It's fairly easy to tie as well, here's a good video:

I don't attach my droppers with a knot, I use a loop to loop connection. I cut about 10 inches of tippet and tie a loop in one end (double surgeon's loop or whatever), then holding the loop behind the leader I pass this tippet piece around the leader, through the loop, and tighten up. This forms a 90 connection you can slide up and down the leader if you want to adjust the depth of your upper fly. Keep it under 6 inches and you seldom tangle.

I like blood knots also, but I struggled with them for years until I saw Chris Fave's method:

I Euro 90% of the time and have used all sorts of dropper-tag knots.

Honestly, the best and easiest one for a dropper tag is the Double Surgeon's. My dropper fly doesn't get that tangled all that often if I keep the tag on the short side and if I use the tag end that is pointing towards the rod and I clip off the other side.

I do use blood knots for my home-made leaders. But, for the dropper tag, I've found a Double Surgeon's to be much faster.

Surgeon's knot, with fluorocarbon, not mono, and use the uphill tag, not the lower one.

Figure of 8 knot, very quick and easy, you can use haemostats... I always use the tag hanging down towards the fly, that way it pulls the knot closed rather than ripping it open.
