Default Looking for a fly reel

Hey all. I am looking for a fly reel for a Redington Classic Trout 7'6" 3wt. So I am in the market for something decent, cast or machined aluminum not plastic, that is fairly light and has a decent drag.

I figured i would see if someone had a new or used fly reel they would be willing to reel me for a good price. I have fly line for the rod so do not need a reel and line, but would buy it if it had to be sold as a package. I do not have a lot to spend, being in high school and not working.

So shoot me a PM if you have a decent 2/3 or 3/4 wt fly reel for you would be willing to sell me. I do not care if it is cosmetically damaged, finish rubbing off in a place or two, etc... as long as the internals are good.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a good reel. Let me know.

Have a look at this thread, both of these are great options, assuming of course they are in your price range. I have no affiliation with the seller.

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking at those, but was hoping for something just a bit cheaper for now. But they are tempting......

    Hi Newby,
How much are you willing to spend with shipping and everything? These guys have a really great deal going on right now and they toss in a spare spool now. Figures. I bought one just days before the free spool offer. I like the reel, nice smooth drag, looks nice. Good deal, low cost.

Right around the price that one is. Someone pm'd with a offer I think I will take, but if not, I might get that.

Forgot about albright, thanks for the link.

The Albright is a heavy reel.

Hardy/Grey makes a Grey G-series standard arbor click and pawl reel made of die-cast aluminum that would be almost half the weight. Another nice looking reel is the Red Truck Emerger. They're both click and pawl, but why would you need something more for fishing 3 weight?

Allen fly who is a page corporate member also has some reels on sale right now. I have heard nothing but good stuff about them. Check their site out before you pull the trigger on a purchase.

Cabelas has the wind river reel wich is a good reel for the money, I think $30. I have one on my TFO pro 4wt and like it. You won't need much of a drag on a 3wt, really.
