Default Step by step braided loops

Here's a step by step for braided loops. I use 60lb HOLLOW braid. 80lb is much more manageable so if you going to order I suggest you order 80.
    Material List:
    HOLLOW braid
    a pen
    Bobbin threader
    Braid scissors

    Step one.
Grab either side of the braid where you want to begin and push it together. This will open the braid and make it easier to get into it

    Step two.
Run the threader into the braid 1-1.5"

    Step three.
Push through the side of the braid and pull the end of the line back into the braid. The first stitch will not lock in the loop so putting a pen through it will hold your loop size while you work.

    Step three.
Cut the tag end down to 1-1.5". Insert the threader again 1/4" past where your tag ends. This will make sure your tag end is inside the braid after the second stitch. DO NOT push the threader through the same hole your first stitch came out of. It should come out a few strands below it. This will lock in the splice.

A dab of glue is a good idea at the bottom of the splice, however I wait until it's on the fly line. I work the flyline all the way up until it meets the tag and and drop some glue on them

Hey Fontinalis, I see your in Phili. That's only an hour away from me. I live in central NJ and generally fish the beaches and freshwater in north Jersey. I'm curious of what I might find if I head in your direction. Any less than sacred spots you could share?
