    Question Best Bass Bug Line.

    Hello all,

I'm after some advice regarding line choice for casting deer hair bass bugs.
I will be casting 1/0 bugs, some with zonker strip tails.

The the bonefish taper line I currently use is great for casting gurgler syle flies, but realy struggles with the more wind resistant flies.

    Thanks in advance

Get a cheap regular weight forward and cut 6 inches off the tip
Then beat the **** out of it.

I just replaced a Wulff Bass taper with an Orvis Hydros. No comparison really. I should have stuck with the Wulff. I'll probably replace the Orvis because there's no reason to accept compromise with all of the lines and tapers out there.
I guess I can't offer a suggestion because I haven't tried them all. I did tell you what didn't work for me though!

Have you not had that bonefish line act a little squirrelly in cold water? Many times a warm water line in cold water will have a tendancy to coil up when chilled.

Yea,I also like the Wulff bass taper line.Picked 1 up this year and it casts very nice. The Wulff SWT saltwater line works good too.Another line to look at is the Rio Clouser. They are nice casters.

For the bigger stuff, I'm a big time fan of SA's Magnum Textured lines. You can really throw some big nasties around with it.
