8wt. Line Redfish/Specks/Bones?

I am completely baffled by all the choices in Saltwater lines for the mentioned species.

I know there will be a bunch of different preferences and experiences with lines. I'm just looking for suggestions and general guidance.

Also, is there a good textured or ridged line that has a suitable taper for Redfish?

For Saltwater? The SA website rates the Tital Taper as a "Mild Climate" Freshwater Line.

Would it do ok in heat and salt?

A very good fishing friend of mine lives down by mosquito lagoon and fishes that line exclusively down there. I've never heard a complaint from him and I've fished down there in some super warm weather with that line and have not had any problems.

Sorry it was an "off topic" comment - Yes I was referring to regular river trout with my 5wt XP. I bet one of the similar lines for freshwater (like GPX), maybe even overlining, would help me cast even better.

I am definitely a fan of the GPX series for a good all purpose line. Depending on conditions of where you fish, there might be better options though. I'd start a new thread for that one!
