    Default Hand tied Bonefish/Permit Leaders

A respected Keys guide suggested the following for bonefish and permit leaders:5' 40# Seaguar, 3' 30# Seaguar, with a 3' tippet of 02X (.013/20#) for permit or 3' of 01X (.012/18#) Seaguar Gmax for bonefish.

I am going to tie a couple of these to try next week in Belize ( if TOMAS allows).

What are the rest of you using?

Wow. That's a 14 foot leader. Make sure that you are used to casting something that long. I am sure that the length is recommended for those Keys fish.

I normally use 9 foot 16 pound test Orvis Big Game Fluorocarbon Leaders for bonies. If I need to go longer, I just tie on more.
