Default New Orvis Pro Fly Line

Anybody have the scoop on this new line? Looks like my favorite rear weighted taper

Had a chance to cast this line on a 5 wt Asquith, epic performance! Feels like a more modern triangle taper; super slick, tight loops, easy to carry lots of line, etc

Cool - looks as if Sci-Angler tweaked their discontinued VPT and then brought 'er back out under new name.

My thoughts exactly. SA, as the producer of the Wulff TT understands it well and VPT was their "improvement" upon it. Now it is back, good for e c and czando.

Looks very interesting for the TT fan I am!

What are the improvements of the Orvis pro (and SA VPT) over the TT ?

    Thanks

Rather than a straight continuous taper from some 30' back to the tip...the "Triangle"...it has a more compounded taper offering a bit more casting mass further forward.

Agreed it is perhaps a smoother version of the triangle taper and the ast plus coating is super slick. The taper design is about 48 but is not as heavy as say the Rio LT another excellent line but the Pro allows you to carry more line than the TT. You all know how much I love the TT but this actually feels similar but you can cast a little farther,

I have cast the VPT and this has a longer head and is a much improved design.

I am very tempted now, looks like a serious contender to replace my TT... The triangle taper we’re bombproof durable (at least the version I had, pre *J3* coating), any info on the durability of this new Orvis will be very welcome !

Another point: does the tip stay high afloat even after a full day fishing?

    Thanks!
