    which is going to cast beter at short distances 15' - 25' on a 7 1/2' rod

    I only use WF NOW! but I do think DT is more for shorter distances.
    There is also Triangle Taper that is great on shorter distances also.

    if thats all your ever gonna cast with that rod id say dt. you say 7 1/2' im taking that as a 2-3 wt?

    My 2wt is 7'9" and I have a 7'6" 5 wt bamboo, and several 7' four weights...Oh, my 3 weight is 7'11".

    the rod is a 4wt
    i just use it in tight cover

    At that distance, they're both the same
    Once you have more line than that out, the WF will cast further and the DT will mend better.

    You might check out a triangle taper.....
