    Yeah, same problem with the picture.

    I was a little surprised to click in and see a dry fly, as there are a whole series of soft-hackled wet flies known as North "Country" Spiders.

    North Fork is a part of Redbank Creek in Clarion County, Pa this part of the stream is fly fishing only and usually has lots of trout mostly browns. This fly is my go to dry fly when nothing else is working.

    Before tying the hackles to the fly, I make a thin body of fur. I do this for 2 reasons.
    The first reason is to aid in flotation. I soak the fly in silicone and let it dry at home before going fishing. I soak and dry at least 2 times. I then add some light silicone grease to the body when on the water. The fly is unsinkable even after catching fish.

    The second reason is that the fur forces the palmered hackle to stick out from the body.
