Sorry for the delay. I checked the spool but it has no size on it. I'm looking forward to learning more.

Looked again. The little baggie it came in just says "small".....

Really nice job for your first flies. It's smart to keep it simple and use less materials. The rib looks great and the sparse small thorax is perfect. Next time, tie in your on the far side of the hook and let it migrate to the underside as you wrap your thread down the shank, when it's on the bottom side hold it in that position the rest of the way. Then when you start to wrap the rid you'll get a nice spiral right from the start no matter which way you chose to wind.

"Small" is the wire size. It comes in small, med, large; sometimes fine, extra fine, and Brassie depending on the brand - which I think is a little smaller than small...but I'm not positive!
