Casey, your right..... Thats what it is, it's not the same rod it will ultimately be matched up with. The combo just made for a nice picture, both the reel and rod do not match up well do to there differing weight's. This reel would best balance a 8" + glass rod. (as it does have a bit of heft). My CGR is a bit lighter. ............You guys are good!

When I purchased this reel, it had poor pics. Brought it home for under 20$, I was really surprised to see it's condition after the box was opened. As this is not my usual experience. This reel is by far the nicest conditioned vintage reel I have eve purchased.

Yet another Pfueger. A Summit. Though probably made of a glass filled resin it has a protective metal band around the perimeter of the spool which is cool, probably to protect against wear.

Any comments or knowledge of these reels? There are some Ocean City reels in here as well as what looks like a home made reel with a swirl finish that always reminds me of Charles Lindberghs Spirit of St. Louis.
Some of the knobs look like bone or stone... something other than wood or plastic; any thought on this?

I just saw that Lindbergh-looking reel on Riptide's post #10 here! I wonder how many are out there and why the maker didn't put his name on them.

The T-18 just came in today, here's few pics to show a size comparison between an Abel Super 9 at 4.25"(same dimensions as Super 11 and BG #4N) holding 275yds of 50lb power pro backing, Tibor Pacific at 5.25" w/300yds 50lb power pro(I plan on adding 200yds to fill it up), and the Galvan T-18 at 6" w/500yds of 65lb power pro.

I fish a hardy and love it! I have this reel in a 5-6wt on a grey's rod to kinda match. Wish I had a matching Hardy rod!

This is better, but, is that a 'stock' photo?

Hey, the Castle & Fly logo is upside down! Never-the-less, this fine reel deserves to wear it.

I still marvel that those reels are sold at such a great price. Outstanding value for the dollar!
