    Default Lamson Konic vs. Radius

    Hello
Are there big differences between Lamson Konic and Radius? I need light reel, and after purchasing Velocity (for #5 rod), I love Lamson reels. Now I do not have enough money to buy another Velocity so I think about Radius or Konic model.

BTW. If you have Radius 1.5, used, in good technical condition (scratches allowed) at very good price :-), let ma know for PM. I'd take it, by eBay.

The Radius series is now discontinued. The Guru series replaced it.

    Differences between Konic and Radius.
    - Konic is made from pressure cast aluminum then machined. Radius is made from machined barstock aluminum.
    - Konic has shallow large arbor with wide spool. Radius has a deeper arbor with a narrower spool (its more of a mid arbor reel).
    - Konic is machined less than the Radius which makes it heavier than the Radius.

I'm sure that there are more differences.

If you can't find a Radius, take a hard look at the Guru.

Thanks for answer. I Know that Guru replaced Radius, but I think I can find Radius cheaper than Guru - this is I look for radius. Moreover - many of my colleagues, here in Poland, give very high marks for just Radius.

Radius is a sweet reel, I picked a Radius 3.5 today.
It is more traditional styled close framed reel, to allow for more rigorous use, while still incorporating the Waterworks design element.
Conicle Drag System to reduce the amount of material used and weight of the reel, while keeping the same surface area of the drag cones.
Type II anodizing to protect the reel from all surface abuse.
Mid size arbor spool to retrieve a healthy amount of line per rotation.
    And it is fully machined!

You might keep an eye on EBay for the Radius. I picked up a Lamson Litespeed 3 Hard Alox the other day for $170 (it had a little nick on the rim but that didn't bother me).
