Default Orvis BBS vs Access

I'm looking for a 3-5 wt. classic reel. considering the Orvis BBS or Access, of possibly CFO. Any other "classic' reels for a 3-5 wt. i should look at, under (or close) to $200.

Thanks,

Dennis

I got a BBS for my 2 wt. Love the look and the weight of it. Only reason I'd see to spend the extra $10 (or whatever it is) for the Access is if you either like the look more or need a bit more backing.

Take a look at the Redington Drift series reels. They are fully machined mid arbor old school click style reels for $100.

The BBS is more "classic" than the Access. All mid- and large-arbor reels are newfangled.

Even the current version of the BBS is a little bit trendy, with those large perforations and black or titanium finishes. So is the current CFO model, with those strange perforations around the rim. For a more authentic old-timey look, try the LL Bean Pocket Water or the Red Truck Diesel 3/4 (which is rated 3/4 but is almost the exact same size as a CFO III; it takes a WF5 with 50 lb of 20# backing just fine).
