Thread: Hardy LRH spare parts

  1. Default Hardy LRH spare parts

Anybody know where to get spare parts for an early Hardy LRH? I have a two screw lineguard model, but dropped and lost one of the screws.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Either this link to Hardy USA and then use the 'Contact Hardy' tab; Hardy North America

Or this guy will have a screw to fit; Archuleta’s Reel Works | Fly Fishing Reel Repair

Ard has it covered...once again. Ken Hodgen from Hardy USA took great care of me when I needed an A Pack (springs & pawls).

You could try him, but if Hardy can't take care of you Archuletta sure will.

    Thinking..............

If you're gonna keep the reel for the long haul (I've had my Featherweight since 1978) you should get at least a set of screws for the line guard, a set for the latch cover (sooner or later you'll snoop under there) and an 'A' kit for the reel. Then you'll never worry about having it down during a season.

Plan 'B' would involve; Always dissemble a reel with a sheet of printer paper (or similar) on a flat surface and remember where the parts came from and their orientation when you reassemble. And.......be sure to use the correct size screw driver so you don't hack up the screw heads or slip and mar the reel

Ard, you now have me thinking about adding a couple of A Packs and some screws for my LRH's. You never know when you might need the parts.

Thank you all for the information. Ken Hodgen from Hardy USA hooked me up with some spare screws. Also appreciate the link to the Fly Fishing Reel repair gentleman, that may come in handy one day.

Thumbs up Re: Hardy LRH spare parts

Thanks for the follow up post on this. It's great to know that Hardy still has stock available on the screws for the line guard. I figured they should but you never know.

I inquired about 2 screw line guard availability with Hardy and they do not have them. Bill Archuleta can make or re-condition a worn one. Just thought I'd pass the info along.
