Interesting read. Personally, it's hard for me to comprehend an 8 weight reel challenge that has a reel that they describe in the quote below listed above proven reels like Abel and Tibor:

The Sage 4280 is a great choice of trout reels. While it tied for 5th in our test, this was mostly due to its low price and light weight. If you're casting all day to small-ish bonefish, it's not a bad choice, otherwise, I'd look for more drag.
This is an 8 weight test - who uses them for trout? At least they say why it rates high overall, but their weightings for "overall" winner need to be adjusted for the titled purpose - best 8 weight reel. If you wade through the overall rating, some useful info, but overall rating makes no sense.
