A simple reply, which I believe has been mentioned before.....since we are bringing up the two best reels in the industry at this point!

Abel Reels - match the reel to the line weight in 95% of situations (4 weight rod, go 4N).

Hatch Reels - go one size down on the reel (4 weight rod, go 3 Plus).

Both are beautiful reels. I own a bunch of Hatch but am thinking of getting some Abels.
