    Default Okuma SLV

I just bought an Okuma SLV 8/9. Does anyone have any opinions about these reels? Good or bad? I know it's not the top-o-the-line, but it's what my wallet would allow.
(I know, a little late to ask for opinions after I bought it...)

I have one on my 5WT. They don't have the traditional styling I like, but the drags are real good for the price. They are quite serviceable. You should find it satisfactory.

    I have the 2/3, 4/5, 5/6 and 8/9.

They work fine. I've never had a problem.

The only criticism I have is that the spools wobble a bit more than I'd like. Even that doesn't affect them in real use.

Been a great reel. I do boast these reels and their quality at a great price.

My son had his tension knob fall off and the store had another and gave it to him no issue.

Other than that the reels have been flawless.

I have a 5/6- 7/8- and a 8/9 . For the price I think they are great reals. Iv'e had some pretty big fish on both the 7/8 and the 8/9 and they handled them well. The one thing I have noticed with them is when fighting a fish you have to turn the drag knob in very small increments because they cinch down really fast.

Thanks everyone! It's good to know I didn't make a major mistake in buying it.
Now I just need to get out and put it through it's paces.

I bought one after seeing a film of a man catching several steelhead on his SLV
