  1. Default Realistic reel capacity

Just looking at my Marquis 1 and trying to think of a realistic capacity for it. With an airflo 20# running line and 420 rage will there be room for and how much backing? If its not gonna fit, I can use it on my 11' 5wt deer creek. Im sure there are a lot of marquis #1 users out there and id love to hear your experiences. Cheers

    Default Re: Realistic reel capacity

It seems that when I had my wife's Marquis 'Salmon' 1 lined out with a 360gr Scandi(34' head), with 100' of 20# running line, that it was able to handle just over 150 yds of 20# backing.

I'd go with 175 yds, you can always take a bit back off and not worry about breaking the bank.
