Default Refinishing bamboo rods

I am new to bamboo rods but have gotten really interested the look and feel of of the rods. I have been learning about the old makers and thier building/finishing tecniques. I have a lot to learn but I think I have been bitten.

My current subject that I am asking advice on is the "proper" methods and the "proper" materials to apply finish to a bamboo rod. I am a traditionalist and prefer to stay within those confines.

I want to learn more about the dipping method of finishing. Can anyone help with advice on how to build a dipping system and drying cabinet? What materials work best. The process? Opinions on the the best varnishes to use?

Also interested in your opinions on materials to use for sealing the wrappings.

Thanks for your help.
